Entry Number 10176

In 1948 the Magnum photographer George Rodger visited the then virtually unknown Batwa tribe of the Impenetrable Forest of Uganda. Over the last 60 years much has changed in their lives. They no longer live free in the forest, but in extreme poverty, relying on the generosity of others for their livelihoods. These images are part of the welcome dance they performed for me whilst retracing George Rodgers steps in Uganda.
